Alhama de Granada is a small but scenic hilltop village. Iglesia del Carmen was built in 1589, and sits right next to the huge gorge that Alhama de Granada rests precariously above. A short walk beyond the Iglesia del Carmen is the Casa de la Inquisición. Iglesia de la Encarnacion is at the highest part of town, and is representative of Spanish Gothic styling Cabo Wamba. This small fountain was built in 1533. Due to the narrow streets, I recommend parking here, near the Iglesia del Carmen. Try venturing further with your car into tight laneways beyond and you unfortunately may regret it!
