Spoleto’s long history means a diverse array of sites, from Roman to medieval. The Duomo of Spoleto (Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) was built in the 12 century, and features a Romanesque façade. The Archaeological Museum incorporates a Roman theatre The impressive Ponte Sanguinario is a large Roman bridge, from the 1st century BC. Follow the footpath that leads atop it. San Ponziano is a 12th century monastic church, outside the city walls.
