Distance & Duration
Today’s drive begins with a drive up to another of the fine Cols to be found in the area. Hiking is a good possibility if the weather is good, but bring your warm clothes! Leading down from the Col, the route eventually comes to Gorges de Daluis, a stunningly beautiful canyon defined by the distinctively red geology, very much in contrast to elsewhere in the region. The fantasic road design here – often splitting in two so as to navigate the precipitous terrain – is most impressive, and definitely adds to the experience. Finally, the drive leads on to Castellane, a small town that buzzes with activity in Summer due to popularity of the the nearby Gorges du Verdon.
