Distance & Duration
Day two of the tour starts out by journeying down to the rippling Tuscan hills of the Val d’Orcia. If you can, set out early when the sun is low in the sky, as the games played by the light against this terrain is truly something special. First stop of the day is at Monte Oliveto Abbey, from which the route continues through to the charming hill town of Montalcino. Pienza is next on the list; a small village with a surprising stock of fine architecture. From Pienza, the day’s driving concludes with by heading to Montepulciano, and an Italian hilltop glory if ever there was one, beautiful within and without, and also famous for its wines for good measure.
