Built onto the lower slopes of Monte Ingino, Gubbio is another beautifully preserved medieval township. The town is one of steep, winding streets and fine Gothic architecture.
- Palazzo dei Consoli, built 1332-1337, is noted for the large flat space engineered for its construction on such a steeply sloping hill. The building houses the Eugubine Tables.
- In front of the Palazzo is theCathedral.
- Take the funivia (cable lift) up to the Basilica of St. Ubaldo. The funivia is an odd design.
- The Fountain of the Mad is said to induce madness in those that run around it three times.
