Guadix is well off the tourist trail, but I found it extremely unique and interesting. It is a very quiet town, but has an unusual Spanish wild-west feel about it. The eroded desert landscape that surrounds the town give it an mysterious feel. Park your car somewhere between the main round-about and the Cathedral, and take a short walk through the old town. Back in your car, at the south side of tonow you’ll find Mirador Las Cuevas an interesting viewpoint over the town and its cave dwellings, as well as the surrounding area. There is also a Cave Museum (Cueva Museo) nearby.
